In ball gown wedding dresses the bodice plays a fundamental role. It can be built like a true tailored corset, enhanced by boning and architectural cuts, or be softer and more delicate. Sweetheart necklines, off-the-shoulder lines, straight necklines, bare shoulders and plunging necklines completely change the balance of the silhouette and the character of the gown.
The fabric also determines the final effect. Tulle creates ethereal, romantic volumes; lace adds depth and preciousness; organza and silk bring lightness, while mikado, duchesse and structured fabrics give life to modern ball gown wedding dresses, sculptural and with great presence.
