The A-line wedding dress, also known as the A-shaped wedding dress, takes its name from the particular construction of the silhouette: the body is followed through the top while the skirt gradually opens towards the hem, ideally drawing the shape of the letter A. It is an extremely versatile, elegant and harmonious line, able to adapt to very different interpretations.

An A-line lace wedding dress can have a delicate, romantic character; chiffon, tulle and georgette create light, moving skirts. Organza, mikado and more structured fabrics allow for clean, contemporary, architectural lines. The bodice can also completely change the identity of the gown: structured corsets, V-necks, sweetheart necklines, off-the-shoulder lines, square necklines or low backs turn the same silhouette into very different designs. The terms “A-line” and “princess line” are today used side by side by the leading bridal houses.
At the Le Fate Milano atelier we offer A-line wedding dresses from our collections and a selection of designs by Italian and international designers, chosen for the quality of their fabrics, stylistic research and tailored construction.
It is a particularly interesting silhouette for the bride who wants to feel elegant without necessarily choosing a very full skirt or a fitted gown.
From elegant, romantic wedding dresses to minimalist interpretations, from lace designs to organza or mikado constructions, the A-line is a perfect meeting point between naturalness and structure, letting the fabric, the details and the bride’s personality determine its character.
